William Keenan Named Eagleville’s Chief Financial Officer

Eagleville Hospital is pleased to announce that William Keenan has joined its administrative team as Chief Financial Officer.

Keenan brings to the position more than 25 years of experience in all areas of financial management and compliance—especially Sarbanes-Oxley—and a proven track record with organizations ranging from start-up to $2 billion in revenue. Most recently, he served as the Owner and Principal of William R. Keenan, CPA Consulting, a firm that provided interim, part-time CFO and controller services to hospitals and healthcare organizations. Prior to this he was Senior Vice President-Finance (Divisional CFO) for PHH Arval in Sparks, Md., a provider of fleet management services.

“When I met with the hospital’s senior team, I was struck by everyone’s high energy and the vision for the future,” he says. “Everyone wants to make a change for good and that’s really what I’m looking for at this stage in my career.”

In addition to the opportunity to give back to the community, Keenan shares that he’s intrigued by the challenges that lie before Eagleville and the healthcare industry. “We’re in a really unique situation right now,” he explains. “COVID-19, and the greater healthcare environment, are forcing us to really look at how we move forward and provide quality service to our patients at a very cost-effective price point. This is particularly challenging for Eagleville as we have very few patients with commercial healthcare insurance.”

Despite this, Keenan believes that Eagleville’s commitment to the community, paired with its current efforts to modernize the campus through the addition of a $50 million patient care building (which is expected to open in early Fiscal Year 2022) are steps in the right direction. “We’re working to increase the utilization of our facility and make it more attractive to people who are in need of our services, and that’s what we need to do to be a player in this competitive segment of the market,” he explains.

Keenan holds a master’s in management from Penn State University and a bachelor’s in business administration from Widener University where he graduated cum laude. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the Financial Executives Networking Group. Keenan resides in West Chester with his wife Mary Ann and enjoys being an active member of the West Goshen Township community.
